~~~ Saturday, January 1 ~~~ When I went outside to take some raindrop photos, I was fascinated with this set of leaves caught in the dogwood tree. They are definitely not dogwood leaves – maybe from a Hickory tree. It is interesting to see shadows in raindrops. So pretty!
Since there is no red on the head of these, I expect both are females. Aren’t they pretty with their black and white feathers.
~~~ Saturday, January 1, 2022 ~~~ This was not the first time I made a pork roast on January 1, but it was the first time I made a roast from the meat of a wild hog – the one Cerwin shot in Tennessee at the end of last summer. It was nice to have […]
~~~ Our Last Christmas Get-Together for 2021 – Thursday Evening, December 30 ~~~ We were at Teen Central in Manheim, which was perfect for our evening. I should have taken a few pictures of the children in the gym. A few of our nieces planned a delicious taco salad meal. I enjoyed visiting that I […]
~~~ Wednesday, December 22 ~~~ The red-headed woodpeckers don’t come to our feeders on a regular basis, so I treasure each time I see one. The male and female look alike, so I don’t know which one this is. It is one of the prettiest birds in our area.
~~~ Monday, December 27 ~~~ The sunrise was brilliant and short-lived. It reminded me of the saying, “Red sky in the morning is a sailor’s warning” because snow was predicted by late morning. Within minutes the sky was gray. A light snow arrived about 11:30 am.
~~~ Wednesday, December 29 ~~~ Our last midweek excursion for 2021. Our first stop was at Michael’s Craft Store where I dropped off a counted cross-stitch piece for framing. This piece was of an impala – a photo that was taken when we visited Africa in 2018. Next we went to Costo where I needed […]
(10) Diane Myers | Facebook We love you! Dad and Mom
I combined several blessings in this post. Things that have happened to us recently. Four freshly baked (delicious) cranberry muffins arrived from our sweet neighbors, Alan and Dani just before Christmas. A beautiful poinsettia from Barb and Mary – our son-in-law’s (Roy) mom and sister. A delightful Christmas bouquet from Josh (grandson), Emily and Tucker. […]
~~~ Saturday, December 25 ~~~ Some of the pretty decorations on their table. Visiting while waiting for lunch. Ian taking a picture of his ham – a Christmas gift from C. M. High where he works. Jere and Kristen preparing to put food on the table. It looks like Deb took this picture with my […]
~~~ Thursday, December 16 ~~~ A beautiful sunrise at our house. Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset, Swiftly fly the years. One season following another, Laden with happiness and tears. from Fidler on the Roof Sunset while a plane leaves the Lancaster Airport. Photo taken toward the east. The evening sky toward the west.
~~~ Friday Evening, December 24 ~~~ Jere invited us to go with their family and Roy, Deb and Barb (Roy’s mom) to see a movie at Penn Cinema. This was a regular happening for us until Covid cancelled it last year. They look over the reviews and choose the movie they think will best fit […]
~~~ Wednesday, December 22 ~~~ Anthony likes watching Paw Patrol whenever he has opportunity. He was glad his mom (our granddaughter Abby) didn’t bring any schoolwork for him this time. Jasmine was into dressing teddy bears during this visit – and catching glimpses of Paw Patrol. This is the first time we kept Natalie – […]
The other evening I noticed a pretty sunset and went outside with my camera. However, my attention was drawn to the moon that was just rising in the eastern sky. It looked wintry and pretty behind our hickory trees with bare branches. The setting sun also painted a beautiful sky.
~~~ Sunday, December 19 ~~~ Roy, his mother Barb and sister Mary. Left to Right: Zach (Grandson wannabe. He is dating Gloria), Jesse, Josh, Ian, me, Jordan and Nate. As we were waiting for a few people to arrive and putting the finishing touches on the serving table, I found myself standing between two grandsons […]
~~~ Sunday, December 19 ~~~ The first celebration was on Sunday, December 5 with most of the Myers family here. Other family members were invited to stop in for dessert. It was the day that suited the Myers – from Maine and Tennessee – but didn’t suit many of the others – the reason we […]
