A Birthday Lunch at Schaefer’s Canal House

Chesapeake City, Maryland, Friday, August 28

This is one of our favorite places to eat on a warm summer day, so we talked Roy and Deb into going with us for her birthday. That isn’t very difficult because it is also one of their favorite restaurants. We have a one-hour drive to their house, then a one-hour drive to the restaurant.

We were celebrating Deb’s birthday which was the day before.

Deb and I got Cream of Asparagus soup.

Cerwin got a cheesesteak and I had crab egg rolls.

Deb’s cheesesteak egg rolls and I forget what Roy had. Maybe shrimp

It was a warm relaxing time as we visited, ate, and watched a variety of boats going by in the canal.

This tour boat is based near the restaurant, so we think it was going for customers.

We ordered one piece of cake and four forks. The waitress put a candle it, so we sang to her and the customers around us clapped and cheered.

Deb sent somethings along with us for our granddaughter Diana’s family, so we stopped in there on the way home.
