Wednesday, October 21

After a good night of sleep and breakfast at the motel, we left Sturbridge about 7:30 am for the last leg of our trip home.

By 8 am we were entering Hartford, Connecticut, one of the busiest parts of our trip.

The back of this truck made us smile.

Leaves were mostly over peak or had not yet peaked as we made our way through Connecticut.

While at a Connecticut rest stop, I took a few pictures of flowers that were over the hill. A Ditch Lily

My flower ID says this is a Ditch Lily whose blooming days are over.

Purple Coneflower

Purple Coneflower whose blooming days are over.

We stopped in Bloomsbury, NJ, for Subway subs (6″) for lunch and fuel for the car. The price came down from $4.09 to $4.03 since our trip north.

It was good to see our home state sign.

Looks like these leaves haven’t begun to color yet.

We were surrounded by trucks on I-78 during the early afternoon drive.

It was nice to see the back roads that led to our house. We got home about 2 pm.
Now we are back to our normal routine again.
