A Birthday Supper with Nate, Lauree, and Their Girls

Wednesday Evening, September 30

We enjoyed having Nate and Lauree’s family here for Nate’s birthday supper from Two Cousin’s Restaurant.

I was so disappointed to discover that I did not remember to take pictures. Nate had a sub, Lauree and I had salads, Cerwin a cheesesteak and the girls shared a ham and cheese stromboli.

The girls enjoyed playing with our toys and riding bikes in our driveway while Lauree entertained Rylee as Nate told us about his latest elk hunting trip (archery) in Colorado.

It was fun listening to his experiences and seeing photos of him and two friends (Tyler and Cody) as they navigated the mountains, thunderstorms, and using a track dog to find Cody’s elk because it went down in a thick brushy area. Nate was pleased that his elk went down quickly and was much easier to find. A friend from Colorado will bring the antlers and meat east when he comes east for Christmas.

Since I did not take pictures, I am using a few of their family from other times we were together this summer.

I made an orange-ice cream and Jello dessert that was a hit with Lainey last night. We also served grape pie which is something we can buy at local roadside stands during September and October.
