A 2021 “Blessing Post” That Moves Us Into 2022

I combined several blessings in this post. Things that have happened to us recently.

Four freshly baked (delicious) cranberry muffins arrived from our sweet neighbors, Alan and Dani just before Christmas.

A beautiful poinsettia from Barb and Mary – our son-in-law’s (Roy) mom and sister.

A delightful Christmas bouquet from Josh (grandson), Emily and Tucker.

Our kitchen window now looks like this. I bought the two small poinsettias for our Christmas meal decorations.

A chocolate-lover’s bouquet from Roy and Deb. I didn’t put this one in the window because I don’t want it to melt. πŸ™‚ They know we like chocolate.

The delivery of a new sofa bed.

Due to retirement (mostly) from TFC Global, we are moving lots of file cabinets and other things out of our basement office to make room for another “weekend or more” bedroom when the house is filled with out-of-state family.

We bought this off the floor at La-Z-Boy. It was a good deal due to being discontinued. I loved our salesgirl, Ana. A few weeks later when we were making delivery plans, she said, “After I knew you bought it, I would not let anyone sit or lie on it.” πŸ™‚ It was still on display for a few weeks (as an open bed) after we bought it because it could be ordered until the end of the year.

This opens into a queen-sized bed and is topped with an air mattress for added comfort. There is an electric attachment for that.

It sure makes our office look different. This wall was previously filled with 2 beige, four-drawer file cabinets, another black, tall paper storage cabinet and a very old, heavy desk. Cerwin cut the desk in half so it could be carried up to the garage. He remembered the difficulty of getting it down the steps and into our office in 1990 when TFC’s Northeast Region moved to our place. The desk was old then – the reason Cerwin said when it leaves the office, it will be in a few pieces. πŸ™‚ Jere and his boys helped remove it from the basement and Jeff helped Cerwin take it to a place for disposal.

I am now able to tell you that we are going to have three new great grandchildren. They are expected in May and June of 2022.

~~~
Nate (grandson) and Lauree are expecting a baby in mid-May. I understand they are doing a “sex reveal” this weekend.
Heze (grandson) and Kayla are expecting a baby two days after Nate and Lauree. Some of you will remember seeing this picture when Diane (daughter), Mark, Heze and Kayla were visiting. A few days after this photo they learned they are having a boy.
This week Donovan, Diana (granddaughter) and Bennett announced that they will be welcoming a baby in mid-June.
We are excited to welcome these three, new great grandbabies – due within a month of each other. It will feel like we have triplets.
That brings our family to a total of 47. I am counting these three, because they are real babies, created by God – not three unidentifiable blobs.
Thus, I close 2021 with this blessing post.
