This was not the first time I made a pork roast on January 1, but it was the first time I made a roast from the meat of a wild hog – the one Cerwin shot in Tennessee at the end of last summer.
It was nice to have time to relax on the 1st day of 2022 and watch the Rose Parade on TV.
By noon we enjoyed a Lancaster County traditional meal for the 1st day of January – pork and sauerkraut. I added peas and mashed potatoes. It was delicious.
I was so busy I saw ony one or two of the floats of the Rose Parade this year! Thanks for showing another, and a band and the Grand Marshall’s car! That looks like a delicious lunch!

I always enjoy the Rose Bowl parade but had to miss it this year. People I was with were more interested in watching pregames. 🙁 J Jutzi
It was a beautiful day, both for the parade and for the game!
It looked like a pretty day from the live TV.
We hadn’t seen it in its entirety for years. It was nice to do that.
