We didn’t expect this add-on to our yard, but last night we had a thunderstorm with a bit of wind, but for us there was more rain – like 2 1/2 inches.

Our newly sown grass area had “rivers” in it. 🙁

Cerwin called Dave of Hershey Landscaping. He said, “I am 30 seconds from you!” That was good timing! 🙂 After looking at it, he called one of his workers, then told Cerwin he will be here within the hour to repair it.

After sowing more grass seed, he spread several bales of straw on the area. The back of this area and all the small areas where grass was sown were okay. This part closest to the house has a bit of a downhill grade which is why this was the only area affected by the heavy rain.

We were away most of the afternoon and came home to a newly repaired yard.

Oh dear, I’m glad it wasn’t the entire lawn that was destroyed by the thunderstorm! I guess it wasn’t such good timing after all! I’m glad they could fix it so quickly!
Our hearts sank at first, then we decided to “deal” with it and the fix happened quickly. Dave said with the wet ground and next weeks predicted heat; we should have grass coming up quickly.
