Today I decided to walk around our yard to show you what our woodlot looks like in late summer.

The Hosta leaves are on their way out for the season.

There are a few weed flowers on the edge of the woods.

I think these will soon be turning a dark purple.

Our trees are as full as they get in one summer and will soon be changing colors.

The woods are thick with leaves, which means we can no longer see the two other houses in our woodlot.

We cannot see much sky in that part of our yard.

A few leaves are already turning red.

Leaves are battered from summer storms.

Our uncut mint tea has turned into flower heads which are filled with butterflies and moths.

As I came around the southern corn of our house, I noticed that our fairly new Weeping Red Bud tree has leaves touching the ground. It looks so healthy.

I enjoy the signs of late summer.
