The Past Few Days Have Been Fun and Busy

On Wednesday, October 21 we got home from Maine – about 2 pm – which gave us time to unpack and settle back into our house.

By Thursday noon, we were having lunch with some TFC Old Guard friends at Knight and Day Restaurant, Lititz. Left to Right: Cerwin, Glenn, Sam, Inge, Kathy, and Rachel.

While having supper with Peg and Bunny (also TFC Old Guard friends) in Massachusetts last week, we learned they were coming to Pennsylvania the same day of our lunch. However, they weren’t planning on arriving in PA until evening.

I invited them to stay at our house while they got a start on emptying their two storage units in this area. You may remember that when they retired from ministering to truckers, they moved back to their home state of Massachusetts to be nearer their children. They got here in the early evening on Thursday. That is when we learned that one of their daughters and her married daughter were coming to PA on Friday evening to help with the storage units, so we invited they to stay with us.

Bunny and Peg spent most of the day on Friday going through their units and preparing some boxes to go back to Mass and others to a thrift store. They took us out for supper to thank us for staying here. As we were finishing our meal at Brickerville House, we learned that their daughter and granddaughter were getting to our house about five minutes ahead of us. It was good to visit with them for a bit before everyone went to bed.

The next day (Saturday) the four of them worked on the storage units most of the day, putting some boxes in their vehicles and taking others to the thrift store. Their daughter and granddaughter headed home while Bunny and Peg came back to our house where I prepared supper for them, Inge and Sam. We had so much fun reminiscing. Peg does serious journaling and read notes from some Transport For Christ conferences. She found the journals in a storage unit.

Bunny and Peg headed back to Mass about 8 am on Sunday morning. We look forward to seeing them again in a few weeks when one of their sons is bringing a trailer to PA. They plan to put all the contents of their storage units in the trailer and take everything back to Mass.
