It feels like we have had a time of rain almost every day for the past week – and that is good for our yards, gardens, and crops.

It is difficult to imagine that the ground is quite dry in other areas of our country – some places not so far from here.

Our valley is quite green with corn and soybeans.
In Arkansas, the heat index for the next week, every day, is 106 to 110 and the week after 101 to 108. The yard looks like October, with dead dry leaves.

Oh, my. That sounds hot and dry.
We haven’t had rain for a couple of months or more, but the marine layer in the mornings provided some morning moisture. Last week was our first big heat wave, and it was in the low 90’s by the beaches most of the week. I guess summer’s finally here!
It is good you have the morning marine moisture.
