I always find these fungi growths interesting. These pictures with an orange glow were taken at sunset. Not sure if this is a fungus or something else. They seem to be plentiful this summer – maybe due to the heat and sometimes high humidity.
~~~ Photos taken between July 2 and July 10 ~~~ This last picture is leaves and not a flower, but it looks like a flower. It also reminds me that fall is coming.
~~~ Saturday, July 9 ~~~ 4:26 PM. Turning the wheat straw to help it dry before baling. I expect this will be used for bedding for their animals. Sunday Evening, July 10 – 8:13 PM – I walked across the road to get a few closeup pictures. Monday Evening, July 11 – 3:26 PM – […]
~~~ Friday, July 8 4:38 PM ~~~ Oh, how I look forward to this each summer!
~~~ Photos from Three Different Days ~~~ I can usually tell when there’s a mockingbird in the area because of their loud song – and not always the same song. They can mock other birds and sounds. They sometimes sing at me from high in a tree or on telephone or electric wires. They are […]
~~~ Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9 ~~~ Friday 11:47 AM – Our fairly large tea bed was in need of cutting, so we decided to do it in one shot. Cerwin used his hedge trimmers to cut it at ground level while I stuffed it in a very large garbage bag. I spent […]
~~~ Tuesday, July 5 – Noon ~~~ I took these pictures from windows in our house, so there were trees in the way. Fields are dry in our area, so there was lots of dust. Taking a load of wheat to the barn for storage.
~~~ Monday Evening, July 4 ~~~ Everyone who attended brought a contribution toward the evening meal. It was a pleasant evening to have supper on the patio. The many faces of our sweet Emmy as she relaxed on my lap. Pretty flowers next to the patio Gloria, Zach, Jordan, Nicole, Nate and Lauree played lawn […]
~~~ Tuesday, July 5 5:24 PM ~~~ I was surprised by this large dragonfly-like critter – inside the screen. I pulled the solar blind down and gently opened the screen so it could be freed. It worked. I googled dragon flies and found some that were similar but didn’t find one that looked exactly like […]
~~~ Sunday, July 3 ~~~ “Somebody” accidentally uncovered Jesse’s computer setup before lunch, so Jere and Kristen decided to have him open his gifts before we ate. It had been covered with a blanket. He was one happy camper. I think he knew about some of the items because he had asked Ian to order […]
~~~ Thursday Morning, June 30 7:44 AM ~~~ I enjoy seeing more farm equipment than usual during the summer months. Someone was moving their hay/straw rake to another area.
~~~ Saturday, July 2 5:07 PM ~~~ It’s always fun to watch a bee collect pollen. Notice the pollen on this bee’s foot. Without bees, we wouldn’t have much to eat. A world without bees is a world without fruit, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. If the bees do not have anything to eat, we do not […]
~~~ Tuesday Evening, June 28 5:30 PM ~~~ Cerwin’s sister Velda and her husband Mel had “stuff” to give her brother Elvin and it was time for the six of us to go out together. Gus’s in Mount Joy is a good location for us. Three siblings – left to right: Velda, Mel, Pat, Elvin […]
~~~ Wednesday, June 29 8:08 PM ~~~ This is what we saw from our window – without the help of a zoom lens on my camera. With the help of a zoom lens. I love this view on a sunny late evening. It won’t be long before we lose this view to tall corn.
~~~ Tuesday, June 28 10:00 AM ~~~ This is a great restaurant for brunch – the reason we made plans to meet my sister Nancy and her husband Marlin for our summer date. It’s fun to hang out with them for an hour or two. About the time we were ready to leave – and […]
