~~~ Photos taken on a variety of days in April ~~~ Mockingbirds sometimes stay in the same area, but I think we are north far enough that ours travel south for the winter, because they seem to be missing during the cold weather. I googled, “How many kinds of mockingbirds are there?” The answer I […]
~~~ Photos Taken Tuesday, April 6 ~~~ Our light pole has needed updated for many years. Years when we were busy with TFC – meaning it always got put on a backburner. Cerwin’s first job was removing the old globe, which had a bullet hole in it from when our grandsons and friends hung out […]
I began preparing this post today during the early afternoon when it was cool, cloudy and rainy and thought something yellow would brighten the day. By now it is mid-afternoon and the sun is shining. 🙂 ~~~ Forsythia during a sunny day – Thurday, April 8. ~~~ ~~~ Photos taken this afternoon while it was […]
Roy and Deb gave us this pretty birdfeeder when they came to take us out for Easter lunch. I took this picture a few days later – after taking time to put birdseed in it. The seed was quickly discovered by this finch. ~~~ Thanks, Roy and Deb – for lunch, the feeder and the […]
We knew ahead of time that our sons and their families had other things going on for Easter Sunday, so Roy and Deb invited us to join them for lunch in Hershey, PA. We love Devon’s buttery, seasoned biscuits which are served before each meal. Roy chose this place because their specials included a variety […]
~~~ Photos from Friday, April 2 ~~~ If you read my blog, you know that we have been taking local excursions in the middle of the week to break up long winter weeks. (We probably won’t have to do that as much during the summer.) A few weeks ago our plan for the day was […]
~~~ Saturday Evening, April 3 ~~~ Because Jeff and Chris and their family are celebrating Easter at a later date, we were invited for an impromptu, whoever it suited, Stromboli supper on Saturday evening. Bennett was hungry when he saw food and was the first to eat. 🙂 Jeff ordered the Stromboli from a local […]
~~~ Photos taken on April, 1,2 and 3 ~~~ These daffodils are always the first flowers of the spring and summer to bloom in our memory garden. They are bulbs originally planted by my dad when he and our step-mother moved to her house. After he died in 1997, she asked if I would like […]
~~~ Photos taken Thursday, April 1 ~~~ Holding Drake – our youngest great grandson. Jade, Drake’s big sister. I loved her question when she walked in the door. “Where are your toys?” Jade and her mama, our granddaughter Jenna. Jade looks like one of her Rohrer aunts, but is beginning to look more and more […]
Photos taken on a variety of days. The flowers were planted by Inge. Inge, this photo was taken on March 11 at the flowerbed closest to the neighbor’s driveway. It think this is Timothy and Barnabas’ gravesite. Same flowers on March 19. April 1 photos ~~~ The other memorial spot is next to our firebush […]
~~~ Photos taken Tuesday, March 30 ~~~ The daffodils looked so spring-like and pretty in a small glass on our kitchen window. Thank you, Anthony. See previous post of our day with Anthony and Jasmine.
~~~ Photos taken Tuesday, March 30 ~~~ These two were here for about a two hours – and watching a children’s program on TV – when Jasmine began crying. Since this was her first time here without her mom, we were pleased that she was happy that long. We tried a variety of things – […]
~~~ Photo taken Monday evening, March 29 ~~~ As we approached our house, on the way home from church, I was almost surprised by the large, orange moon rising over the horizon. By the time we got in the house, it was above the horizon, but still looking quite orange when I took this photo […]
~~~ Photos taken on Saturday, March 27 ~~~ It was a beautiful day on Saturday, which gave us opportunity to get rid of the winter leaves and debris in the patio area. We will get more red stones and some pretty flowers, but will wait until later when the weather is warmer. If you follow […]
We love you! Grandpa and Grandma High
~~~ Photos taken Wednesday morning, March 24 ~~~ He loved watching our birds while waiting for me to make him a scrambled egg for breakfast. The bruise on his cheek didn’t happen at our place. He was helping his mom (Diana) in the yard the day before and fell on a bucket. More birds to […]
