~~~ Sunday Evening, August 1 ~~~ Like I said in my last post, I am not sure how it started, but I offered Jon and Jenn’s children the opportunity to take photos with my camera. My only rules: You must keep the strap around your neck and no running. I told them to look for […]
~~~ Sunday, August 1 ~~~ On the way to church, we noticed that the sky was clear of smoke from the fires in Canada, then as we approached Bemidji, we saw this – smoke in the horizon. Smoke over Lake Bemidji Since COVID, they have been holding worship services in the meeting room of Japheth’s […]
~~~ Saturday, July 31 ~~~ When planning our trip to see Bob and Doris, they thought we would enjoy this festival, the reason we chose the last weekend of July. After helping Bob and Doris set up their stand, I walked around the park to check out other vendors. Several of Bob and Doris’ grandchildren […]
~~~ Friday Evening, July 30 ~~~ Cerwin and I were looking forward to having supper at Japheth and Aimee’s house. It was built since we were in Minnesota in 2015. We had seen pictures, but there is nothing quite like being there. In this photo, Alisha (Jon’s daughter), Jon (Japheth’s brother), Aimee and Loraine. Jon’s […]
~~~ Friday, July 30 ~~~ The guys – Bob, Cerwin and Dietrich (Bob and Doris’ grandson) – set up their stand at Scenic Store in “downtown” Pennington. The store is the town. 🙂 There are a few surrounding houses, but not close together. Doris said the “town” includes 52 people. Scenic Store is a local […]
~~~ Thursday, July 29 ~~~ We were up early and helping Bob and Doris set up at the Walker Farmer’s Market. My photo tells me that it was 7:17 AM when I took this picture. There was a group of Canada Geese across the street that grabbed my attention. The one second from left looked […]

~~~ Wednesday, July 28 – Woodbury, MN to Pennington, MN ~~~ It was raining heavily when we left our motel in Woodbury. However, before long the skies were bright and blue again. Minnesota, the land of 10,000 Lakes. The internet tells me there are more than 12,000 lakes throughout the state. As you get toward […]
~~~ Tuesday, July 27 – South Bend IN to Woodbury, MN ~~~ We got up early enough to say goodbye to Josiah – who left about half an hour before us. We didn’t see him again because he was headed for the city and we were going around it. It was a pretty morning in […]
~~~ Monday, July 26 ~~~ On Sunday evening, as we were preparing suitcases and other things for leaving the next day, I noticed a beautiful evening sky and went outside to capture some pictures. It was the pretty sunset in the west that enhanced the eastern sky in the first three pictures. After a good […]
~~~ I am posting a variety of pictures I took a few days before we left on a road trip. ~~~ Our shellbark and hickory trees are producing many nuts that should feed our squirrels for the winter. We always have trouble identifying which is which because both seem to be a different variety of […]
~~~ Monday, July 19 ~~~ About this time every year – when the daisies are finished blooming – Cerwin uses our hedge trimer to cut the daisies, daylilies and Hosta down to just an inch or two above ground level. We learned to do this several years ago, then in about two or three weeks, […]
One day last week I walked around our yard looking for something pretty. Most of the flowers are beyond pretty or are not yet blooming, so I focused on the green plants. Some yellow also showed up. 🙂 There were also shades of blue. Colorful flowers are pretty, but so is green.
