Pond Update
~~~ Friday, September 1 2:28 PM ~~~ Look at the “pond” today. It is cleaned out and beautifully landscaped. Three weeks ago (August 8) It looked like this. Filled with murky, algae water and deep muck on the bottom. Now we need rain so the spring will start flowing again.
Katydids on Our Windows
I am not sure what is going on with the Katydids in our woodlot. We haven’t seen any all summer, now they are greeting us each morning by hanging out on our house windows. We hear them at dusk each evening, so know they are here. Maybe they are laying eggs. These will die, but […]
Pond Update
~~~ Wednesday, August 24 2:00 PM ~~~ This was about a week ago, when I wanted to get a good shot of the barrels under the raft which my brothers built. For that reason, I walked toward the remains of the raft and one foot sank into the muck! I discovered that only the top […]

~~~ Sunday Morning, August 21 ~~~ Our church doors opened at 8:00 AM for those who wanted to look at the displays which depicted our church life during the past 250 years, and many took advantage of that time. White Oak Church Celebrated 250 Years as a Congregation – Part 1
~~~ Saturday Evening, August 20 ~~~ The forming of a committee and the serious planning of this event began on March 31, with each committee member choosing the area in which they wanted to serve. I chose History, which put me on an interesting journey for the next five-and-a-half months. I did a serious search […]

Pond Update
~~~ Tuesday, August 16 7:32 PM ~~~ If you are following the-drain-the-pond saga, you know Art had to go for a bigger “gun” – or track hoe. Going deeper was incredibly muddy and mucky. As the balance of pond water ran out into the meadow, a cow came to investigate a new water source. As […]
An Impromptu Pizza Supper for the Myers
~~~ Sunday Evening, August 14 6:30 PM ~~~ Many of the Myers (Mark and Diane’s family) were in the area for a 90th Birthday party for his mother during the afternoon. I told Diane that we could order pizza if the family wanted to be together for the evening. They liked that idea. The pizza […]
