By 10:30 am they were beginning to remove old shingles from the front of the house.

Meanwhile, inside the house Jade was preparing to put a note on our refrigerator.

She said so we could remember that she was here.

Jade is our oldest great granddaughter.

When I went outside to tell them that lunch was ready – about noon – they wondered if it would be okay to finish removing the shingles since they only needed a few more minutes.

Drake enjoyed his juice while relaxing on the patio.

Dustan told us they took 8,600 pounds of old shingles to a disposal location.

Following lunch they were back on the roof, working at the chimney, making a few roof repairs and removing old underlayer.

Putting down a new underlayer.

By the end of the first day, the underlayer make it look like we were going to have a green roof. 🙂
