A Wonderful Gift
Saturday, October 21 I came home from getting groceries to find 28 jars of freshly canned applesauce on our counter. Thank you. You know who you are. Love being blessed with gifts like this.
Feeling Grateful
Today it feels like the day was given back to me. I planned to report for jury duty early this morning, but when I called in to the Lancaster Courthouse last night, I got a recording that said jury duty was cancelled and will not be rescheduled. I was not looking forward to the uncertainty […]

Book Fair with Kristen and Jesse

Manheim Farm Show Parade
Wednesday, October 11 It was a drizzly evening, I was dealing with a cold and didn’t want to spend the evening outside – so we arrived at the staging area early where we could watch from our car. We walked a few blocks – to Memorial Drive – so we could watch our grandson in […]
High Family Supper
Sunday, October 8 Cerwin and I were looking forward to seeing his family as it was the first full family dinner we had this year. A few locals could not attend – and we missed those who live at a distance. I was pleased with the fall paper supplies I bought at a new rental […]
New Days
Pictures from early October I love to be reminded at the beginning of each day that “His mercies are new every morning.” I love a rainy morning! It is nice when fall returns, and because of the rotation of the earth and sun, we begin to see sunrises outside our living room window.
TFC’s Chapel at Gerhart’s Truck Show
Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7 Photos by Cerwin – using his cell phone. Our son-in-law Roy stopped it to see the trucks that had arrived by Friday afternoon. Empty Cornfields
Monday, October 2 Like I said in the previous post – this was the corn’s last stand. I heard the harvesting equipment about mid-morning. Not everything hits the truck when they go around a corner. 🙂 The birds and nighttime animals appreciate the extra food. By 5 pm they were working in the field below […]
The Corn Field’s Last Stand
Sunday Evening, October 1 During the day I learned that this was the last day the corn would be standing in the fields around our house. Consequently I took pictures of its last stand. As I took these pictures, I knew there would be the sound of big equipment in the morning – and the […]
