Friday, February 28 Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and Expo Center The little guy in red looked like he may have only been 8-10 years old. He was a great horseman. We think the others in the arena at the same time – with the same breed of horses were his family. These pictures were also […]
and don’t live thoughtlessly. Ephesians 5:17 (The Voice)
Friday, February 28 Harrisburg Farm Show Complex and Expo Center This came about because Gloria had not come to a decision as to what she wanted to do for her birthday – which was in December. When I saw this event advertised, I immediately thought of her – and she loved the idea of going. […]
And may the Master pour on the love so it fills your lives and splashes over on everyone around you. 1 Thessalonians 3:11-13 (The Message)
Wednesday Evening, February 26 This was a make up birthday present to Nathaniel for the end of last year when we were on the road a lot. We don’t get to visit with just them very often, so going out together for a meal is delightful. I enjoy hearing about their life and plans and […]
Do not give up when trouble comes. Do not let anything stop you from praying. Romans 12:12 (New Life Version)
Since I spent so much time and space on my birthday, the visit from our Maine family, and other things, I left some of the February weather and bird pictures go until everything else was posted. A beautiful, winter, sunrise. Female Downy Woodpecker Male Red-bellied Woodpecker Nuthatch A Dark-eyed Junco protecting its food. It seems […]
The devil is working against you. He is walking around like a hungry lion with his mouth open. He is looking for someone to eat. 1 Peter 5:8 (New Life Version)
Saturday Evening, February 22 We met Roy and Deb here so we could spend an evening with them and his sister, Mary, who was visiting from Florida. We had a great time visiting and eating. I only photographed the desserts. Deb and I got crème brulee (as usual). Cerwin’s apple pie. If I remember correctly, […]
Even scoundrels do that much! [Jesus] Luke 6:32 (The Voice)
Tuesday, February 11 This kind of luncheon at the International Office is bittersweet. Because it means that we are saying farewell to a good coworker and friend. On this day we were saying goodbye to Chris as a coworker. That is the sad part. However, we are happy for her because she is moving on to a job that […]
God will draw close to you. James 4:8 (Living Bible)
Tuesday, February 18 When Diane and her girls decided to go shopping on Tuesday, I wasn’t sure that I would go along. I am not a fan of shopping. But, then I thought to myself, “Self you can stay home tomorrow when they drive back to Maine and the house is empty. This is a day you […]
He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Psalm 33:20-21 (New Living Translation)
I think it was at the baby shower/birthday party the day before that we learned my niece Karen was baking donuts on Monday, February 17. She told us to stop in for some on the way home from our tea. (I expect her mom and sisters were also involved in the baking. They usually are.) […]
namely, God’s indwelling presence then your focus is on the work of the Spirit. Romans 8:5 (The Voice)
This is who I saw when I arrived at A Tea Affair on Monday, February 17 – our daughters, daughters-in-law, granddaughters and Mary Ellen a friend from Maine. Well, it was not exactly like that, as the above one was a posed one after we all settled in. It looked more like this – with […]
Monday, February 17 After each of us chose a flavor of tea, we were served delicious blueberry scones and lemon curd. Then we each chose either squash or broccoli and cheese soup to go with our delightful sandwich and dessert delicacies. I could eat like this every day. Tiny ham spread, BLT, and cucumber sandwiches Crème brulee […]
with the lasting charm of a gentle and quiet spirit that is so precious to God. 1 Peter 3:4 (Living Bible)
My last clue on Sunday night said: Final Clue: A Tea Affair – 12 noon on Monday, February 17, 2014. Come and see who else may be there with you… We arrived just before noon. The room is beautifully decorated. The flowers made us feel like springtime – which was wonderful on this cold wintry […]
his intentions can never be shaken. Psalm 33:11 (New Living Translation)
I never had – and will probably never have another birthday like this one! By Sunday evening, February 16, I had sixty cards and e-cards, plus about twice that many wishes on my blog and Facebook. Thank You! I feel honored and blessed by your love. After everyone left the drop-in party I began finding envelopes in interesting places around the […]
salvation, wisdom, and knowledge in surplus, and best of all, Zion’s treasure, Fear-of-God. Isaiah 33:6 (The Message)
After letting Nate and Abby know that the afternoon was a family baby shower, decorations had to be changed. The birthday banner (designed by Kristen) was moved to another part of our garage. Cerwin’s mother demonstrates her great sense of humor. And before long the decorations had changed. In the kitchen Lydia was putting the finishing touches […]
not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government. 1 Peter 2:13 (The Message)
Sunday, February 16 When lunch was over, I mentioned that I would like a few photos (because I knew there was going to be a baby shower for Nate and Abby and there would probably not be another opportunity.) Someone suggested that we start by kissing! 🙂 Our children (Diane, Jere, Deb, and Jeff) have […]
