Embrace true humility, and lift your heads to extend love to others. Philippians 2:3 (The Voice)
Tonight we celebrated Deb’s upcoming birthday by going to Hayden Zug’s. Bread Roy’s seafood bisque. We had the most delightful waitress with a wonderful New York City accent. This has to be the best salad I have ever eaten. The tomatoes were delicious and garden fresh. Deb’s steak and lump crab My lobster and noodles. […]
and with a mind that has no pride. 1 Peter 3:8 (New Life Version)
I quickly went for my camera when I looked out our kitchen window on Tuesday morning. It is difficult to find a prettier spider web than one that has been spun on a foggy, dew-covered, late summer morning. It must have been a night for spiders, because there were several webs near the house. Spider webs […]
Because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved. Psalm 16:8 (New Life Version)
We were up early on Saturday morning to take the chapel to the Annual Trucker’s Day at The Buck to benefit Children’s Miracle Network. It was a beautiful morning. I was grateful that Volunteer Chaplain Bob Russell was there to help Cerwin set up the steps. They enjoyed sitting in the shade of our canopy […]
“You are my safe and strong place, my God, in Whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2 (New Life Version)
Making breakfast on Friday morning. What do you think Jared is dropping chocolate chips on to? You were right if you guessed pancakes. Jesse wanted to make his own. Supper was pizza from Two Cousins – appropriate for Cousins’ week 🙂 – to which the older cousins were invited. Josiah came after I took the picture. Nate […]
to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you. Isaiah 26:3 (Good News Translation)
The field camera caught some of us looking for bugs. Jared is looking for bugs for the Eco Dome Habitat he assembled. The camera even caught me looking for ants and bugs. The critter mix area was a great place to find ants. Ian just returned from Middle School orientation with his Dad. This was Diana’s […]
Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have. 1 Peter 3:15 (Easy-to-Read Version)
After horse-riding lessons, we came home and began to prepare supper. This was Jared’s supper – and he had chosen corn-on-the-cob. He also wanted to make ham on the grill. After supper Ian and Gloria posed with their magic rocks. Then it was time to get wet with water balloons. …and the hopscotch sprinkler. …and […]
a life of wonder, faith, love, steadiness, courtesy. Run hard and fast in the faith. 1 Timothy 6:11 (The Message)
When I took Gloria to Abby’s place to ride horse, Abby asked if I wanted to bring the boys back in two hours so she and Gloria could give them rides. That made two boys – Ian and Jared – very happy. Jesse didn’t think he wanted to ride horse. Abby and Dusty (quarter horse) gave Jared rides. […]
will make you strong. Nehemiah 8:10 (Easy-to-Read Version)
Before supper on Tuesday, Ian and Gloria followed directions by adding a few more rocks to their magic rocks.. Supper was a doggie roast and the yellow watermelon (that Gloria was preparing in yesterday’s blog). We invited the older cousins for this meal. Josiah is the only one who could come in time for the doggie roast. Jordan and Jenna […]
Come into his presence with a joyful song. Psalm 100:2 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
Cerwin realized in the morning that he forgot to set the field camera, so there weren’t any pictures of what came to the critter mix during the night. However, there was a skunk enjoying the food when we got up – even though it was pouring rain. It had been a rainy night, so it […]
I will say it again. Be filled with joy. Philippians 4:4 (Easy-to-Read Version)
These three woke up in a silly mood on Monday morning. However, that is nothing new. They could hardly wait to pick up their cousins Diana and Gloria and go to A.C. Moore for crafts. We were hungry by the time we finished shopping, so stopped at McDonald’s for lunch. When we finished eating, we went to the grocery store […]
what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. Matthew 6:34 (The Message)
I’m not sure when we began having all the Pennsylvania (and sometimes one or two Maine) grandchildren here for three to five days during the summer. The Maine grandchildren got to join the “party” when they were twelve and spent the summer here. I know that some of the older ones were fairly young. Now we are […]
and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. James 5:16 (The Message)
Deb was at our house about 7:30 on Saturday morning to take me to the craft show. I had never gone – and it is only a few miles from our house. Deb’s friend Dee was waiting for us at a local parking lot. They were my shopping partners for the day. I took this […]
be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously. Micah 6:8 (The Message)
I was excited to receive a Facebook message from a blog friend (Juanita) on Friday morning saying they were in the Lancaster area to see Noah at Sight and Sound, and were toying with the idea of going to TFC’s International Office. I messaged her back. “If you decide to do that, call me as I have […]
that the Lord is with me. He is here, close by my side, so nothing can defeat me. Psalm 16:8 (Easy-to-Read Version)
The other night when we were at Jeff and Chris’ for the birthday party, we enjoyed watching one of the kittens playing with the long leaves in the vase of sunflowers. By the time I thought of taking pictures, she stopped. The sunflowers were from the funeral of Chris’ Grandpa Cassel earlier in the week.
and I will live in you. A branch cannot produce any fruit by itself. It has to stay attached to the vine. In the same way, you cannot produce fruit unless you live in me. John 15:4 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
