Friday, March 17 The birds were glad for the suet since there was still a lot of snow on the ground. Female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker It’s been fun seeing them this winter. I don’t remember seeing them so much on previous winters. The mourning doves are glad for the sunflower seeds I throw on the ground. […]
Thursday, March 16 I was glad Cerwin could be my chauffer because of the roads. The main roads were okay, but some of the country roads were still snow covered because of blowing snow – especially ours. First we picked up my 92-year-old step-mother to take her to the visitation/funeral of her former sister-in-law Miriam (age 98) who […]
Tuesday, March 14 This was our view about daylight on Tuesday morning. Our day was made up of snow and ice and wind. The by mid-afternoon the icicles were dripping. During the late afternoon two of the man cave guys decided to open our driveway. After we noticed what they were doing, Cerwin got the […]
Monday, March 13 Dark clouds came in to cover up the pretty sunset on Monday evening. By Tuesday morning there was a few inches of snow. Snow plows tried to stay ahead of the impending snow storm. By this time only the brave birds were out eating. I think this poor robin was confused by the white […]
This is what our first crocus looked like after a light snow on Friday morning, March 10. The snow left us with a beautiful landscape. (This was the small snowfall – before the big snowfall a few days later.) The geese are still in the field looking for food. March 11 & 12 were filled with […]
Thursday Evening, March 9 We enjoyed the beautiful sunset as we drove to Brickerville House Family Restaurant to bless another preacher and his wife. If you missed the reason we are doing this, enter the word “preacher” in the search box at the top right of this entry. Hit enter and read my first two entries on […]
Thursday, March 9 – A rainy day ~~~ Saturday, March 11 – It looked like springtime TI think the migrating geese thought that springtime had arrived. ~~~ Today it is frigid with blowing snow. (Pictures to come in the near future.)
We love you! Grandpa & Grandma
Friday, March 3 through Saturday, March 11 Jesse arrived sick with a fever, but that was okay with me. Jere and Kristen needed to be on a plane early Saturday morning. It’s not the first time there was a sick child in our house. 🙂 I kept Jere and Kristen updated during the day as his […]
Saturday, March 4 I hung a new suet feeder – a gift from our daughter Deb. Later our suet feeders were invaded by a group of starlings. They’re kind of fun to watch.
Sunday, March 12 I rarely take pictures of the guys and gals who use our man cave, because I respect their privacy, but today I wanted a picture of these three friends because tomorrow Lathan leaves for the U.S. Army. I wanted the picture for myself, but they gave me permission to post it here and on Facebook. […]
Friday Evening, March 3 Cerwin and I – and some of our family members and friends enjoyed this dinner and program. The stage was decorated with beautiful wildlife mounts. Dinner by Hess Catering. There was also a choice of sodas or water and cake. I enjoy visiting vendors. This one caught my eye, because you can go on a […]
Friday, March 3 This is what it looked like at our place one week ago – and again today. I think we had a bit more snow today. The birds are always busy on snowy days. Many of our days have been so warm that spring flowers are coming up. Within minutes the sun came […]
Wednesday, March 1 Myrtle has been part of our family’s life since my childhood – as she and her husband, Henry, were partners in Bomberger’s Store – which was one of the local grocery stores we used when I was growing up. I found this on the Internet: Phares Bomberger (Henry’s father), at the age […]
Monday, February 27 A beautiful sunrise on the way to Brickerville House Restaurant. When Inge invited us to join her for a birthday breakfast, I asked if she would like Elizabeth and Nsimba to join us. She was delighted to see them again and talk to Nsimba in Portuguese. Inge likes to eat in the library room. […]

Everyone brought something to contribute to the meal. Cerwin and I provided the Cheeseburger Soup. There is lots of noise, laughter, and visiting when we […]
