White Oak Church Youth Group Mission Trip Fundraiser

Chicken Barbecue Meal – Saturday, April 18

It started at 4 pm, so we decided to go early supposing it wouldn’t be so busy then. This chicken welcomed us after a parking lot attendant told us where to go for takeout meals.

Takeout was located at the carport in back of the church. You will notice a tent in the background. They had given out 812 tickets, and our fellowship hall would not hold that many.

The takeout donation table. Tickets were free, but the youth group had a goal of raising $30,000 in donations from the meals.

Inside the door were lots of takeout trays ready to be filled.

Those who came to dine in went in the other back door of the church.

The dine-in donation table was staffed with two of the youth girls.

As I proceeded along the hallway to the fellowship hall, I met these two girls with a sign they decorated.

The kitchen was busy with those who were filling take out and dine in meals.

As I walked around the kitchen counter, they got an order for 18 takeout meals!

Because we arrived early there were only a few people dining in.

There were also a few people who took advantage of the tent.

Those who dined in had a vast variety of desserts to choose from.

There were several activities for children.

It looks like the face painting crew practiced on Everett. 🙂

The chicken BBQ were kept busy preparing the chicken.

Notice the children’s train in the background.

Our take home meal was delicious!

We learned the next day that they raised $42,000.00. Good job youth group.
