Sunday Evening, April 12 – Crossroads Brethren in Christ Church

Cerwin, Bunny, Peg, and Me
We were honored to be invited to their church’s farewell party as Bunny retires from truck terminal ministry in Pennsylvania and they return to their home state and family in Massachusetts. They have plans to minister to couples and possibly truckers at a nearby truck stop.

The evening started with food. Every party needs food! 🙂

Stewart, the MC for the evening, asked us to answer the following questions.

Their given names are Dennis and Margaret. However, Stewart said, if he had sent out invitations for a farewell party for Dennis and Margaret, everyone would have said, “Who is that.” If I remember correctly, they moved here in 2005. They moved from Massachusetts. I am not sure of the answer to their ages. I think their ages + 10 equaled 160. Peg was a nurse. Stewart thought Bunny could have been any of the four answers. He suggested Billy Sunday.

We sang the following songs.

Bunny and Peg were asked to share how they came to faith in Christ.

We closed the evening with the audience sharing this A Prayer of Praise and Thanksgiving with them. The room was divided into left and right.

This is just a sampling; there were more blessings and prayer thoughts.

Then the audience and Bunny and Peg took turns reading A Farewell Prayer of Blessing.

This too was only a sampling of the prayer between them and the audience.

We do indeed wish them God’s richest blessings as they move back to Massachusetts at the end of the month. We hope to see them when we travel to Maine this fall.
What a lovely farewell. I knew Peg was Margaret and that she was a nurse. But, I hadn’t idea Bunny was Dennis.
I knew his name but had to think about it for several seconds.
