Well, That Was a Surprise – Part 2

Sunday, February 10

Continued from yesterday’s post

Our nieces and nephews were invited to drop in during the afternoon and everyone was encouraged to share or bring memories. This is our oldest niece, Dorretta, who brought a teddy bear I made for her – many years ago. I can’t believe she still has it. 🙂

Nieces Laura and Andi also had some fun memories. Laura remembered coming to our house during a snow storm and helping us mail Extra Mile newsletters for TFC. Their reward was to watch Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. 🙂

Marlin, Jason, Melissa, Nancy and Jamie, Chris, Becky

Nancy (my sister) and Clair (my brother) looking at an old photo.

Chelsey, Jared, and Kevin talking to Nancy and Dale

Cerwin, Marlin (brother-in-law) and Jeff looking at an old picture from the Hershey farm – trying to figure out who everyone was in the shot.

Jesse and Tucker had a great time together.

Some of the pretty balloons and decorations

A creative way of displaying my name.

Birds and photos were the theme of the day.

As we were cleaning up, we were trying to think of some creative ways to dispose of some of the many balloons. These three (Anthony, Tucker, and Jesse) loved popping some and letting others go into the sky.

Abby came to help them with the next set of balloons.

These three got caught in the trees, but the branches eventually released them.

I came back inside to get a few more pictures of decorations and anything else I may have missed.

A delicious gift from Mark and Diane.

I tried to pace myself to two a day.

This is what our kitchen table looked like after everyone went home. The framed photo on the bottom left was from my brother Clair. I was honored to receive the first project from his new workshop. The frame was made from a pine tree from the home farm. (This is what he is doing since he retired.)

There were lots of cards and notes, birdhouses and feeders (that were used for decorations), flowers, balloons, a promised meal, and several gift cards.

I received so many nice notes and encouraging memories. I said, “Now I know what some of my family members will say about me when I die.” 🙂
