Yesterday, July 16, we took our Pennsylvania great grandchildren (and their moms) to Refreshing Mountain for their annual birthday gift. I was pleased that we found a date that suited everyone. June 16 was the only open date that worked. 🙂 It suited Deb and Lydia to go along for extra childcare.
I reserved the 11 am to 12:50 pm time slot for 19 people ages 3 and above. We didn’t have to pay for the 8 who were under the age of 3.
I tried to get a picture of all 27, and I think I managed to locate everyone: Cerwin, Me, Deb, Lydia, Abby, Anthony, Jasmine, Natalie, Renee, Garth, Niclole, Haven, Lauree, Emmy, Lainey, Rylee, Jenna, Jade, Drake, Harper, Estella, Diana, Bennett, Waylon, Sierra, Gloria, and Aleah. We missed Nicodemus and Nzeba (Maine), Andre (California), Stetson and Henley (Tennessee).

Aleah loved everything about the pool.

Waylon was using brand new goggles.

Drake. I loved watching his confidence in the water. A few years ago he barely wanted to put his feet in the water. He and his sister Jade just finished swimming lessons at Refreshing Mountain.

Deb, Lydia and Rylee. Rylee is our youngest great grand child.

Garth slept in his stroller for a while until Abby work him us to enjoy swimming.

Emmy and Lainey

Anthony spent a lot of his time at the diving board

Gloria, Sierra, Emmy, Deb, Lainey, Jenna, Estella, and Lauree. The moms appreciated that Deb helped with the little ones.
I prepared a picnic lunch which everyone seemed to appreciate; ham, ham & cheese, chicken salad and ham salad sandwiches (cut in quarters), grapes, cheese, pretzels, gummies, tiny Nutter Butters, peanut butter crackers, and a variety of small drinks.

There is a lot going on in this picture that Deb took: Emmy is pouring water on Lauree’s head, Gloria is talking to Aleah, Lainey in the front, Sierra at the handrail, and Diana is keeping an eye on her boys (Bennett and Waylon).
When the water fountain shuts down at 12:50 pm, everyone knows it’s time to pack up and go home. Then the pool is ready for the early afternoon time slot (1 pm until 2:50 pm). There was a line of people waiting to get in when we left.
That was an incredibly fun two hours.
