Jordan’s Backyard Birthday Bash

Saturday Evening August 1

Jordan’s wife, Nicole, did a good job of planning a surprise 35th birthday party for him.

Quite a few family members arrived by 4 pm to wait for Jordan to arrive from a day and a half at a hunting cabin in Clearfield County. You will notice Nate and Lauree’s bounce house in this picture. The children had lots of fun with that.

Emmy, Waylon, and Lainey helped push Rylee in Haven’s back porch swing. Rylee is our youngest great grandchild.

Jordan (back) was surprised when he came home to lots of cars in their yard, driveway and in the neighbor’s yards on either side of them. In this picture he is showing Gerald and Jere a few pictures from his time in the mountains: a large elk and a very tall tree stand.

Jordan whose birthday is a few days away (8th) with his sister, Diana, whose birthday is on this day (1st).

It was decided that she should go through the buffet line before Jordan because this was her birthday.

Mac and cheese and pulled pork. Nicole loves to cook which means our tastebuds were very satisfied.

Delicious salad, watermelon and cantaloupe.

When we were finished with the main course, Nicole brought out a chocolate cake with peanut butter icing – a favorite in Jordan’s family.

Jordan with his cake as we sang Happy Birthday.

He did a great job of blowing out the candles in his first try. I think only a few stayed lit.

Sierra talking to Haven (Jordan and Nicole’s daughter).

Haven will be one year old at the end of September and will soon be walking. She easily stands up anywhere but is not yet brave enough to take a step.

Many of the young men and Bennett played lawn golf. During the second game a few of the next generation joined them. It was fun watching Donovan (his dad) and the other men teaching six-year-old Bennett the game.

Sierra brought her mom Diana a few weed flowers that she found on the edge of the yard.

Lainey trying to blow up a balloon.

Cerwin and me listening to Jordan as he told us about his time in the mountains.

Jordan giving Haven a drink of water.

It was fun watching the children and adults playing in Jordan and Nicole’s big backyard.
