The Second Storm Wasn’t as Kind to Us

Monday Morning, July 6

We thought Saturday night’s storm had shaken every branch and tree enough to bring down any weak trees or branches, but apparently not! At daylight we noticed a branch lying on our shed and many other medium sized branches in other areas of our woodlot.

It did some minor damage to the trim work on the shed.

This is another nearby branch in the same area.

And another one

and another one

This shows the other end of the previous picture. It looks like the wind really it.

At first Jeff and Jere were going to come to cut up the branches, but we found so many downed branches, and some broken ones hanging in trees, that we said we only needed to have the branch removed from the shed then we would call All Season Tree and Bucket Services. Jeff removed the branch by himself – before we knew he was here – then Cerwin asked him to look at this old tree. We were concerned about it during the storm.

He agreed with us that it should come down. All Season Tree Service is coming to look at it and our downed branches.

The branch that Jeff pulled off the shed.

The dent in the shed’s trim.

The small stuff that we are cleaning up. Most of this is in the back yard.

The front yard was filled with small branches from both storms.

We feel blessed, because many people had severe damage and others aren’t expecting to have electric for a few more days. We never lost electricity.

Cerwin checked the rain gauge. We got more wind than rain – only an inch and a half. Many around us had three or four inches.
