Sunday Lunch

We invited our grandsons Jordan and Nathan and their families to come to church yesterday to hear one of their good friends (Kyle) preach his first sermon. (They go out for breakfast on a regular basis.) They each liked the idea and did come. It was fun having them and their dad (Jeff) sit with us

It had been a hot week (above 100 degrees several days) and I didn’t feel like preparing a meal or having a meal here, so we invited them to lunch at Two Cousins Pizza. However, on Saturday evening I discovered Two Cousins was closed for the holiday, as were a few other restaurants. I ended up making reservations at Brickerville House. When I got in the car after church, my cellphone was ringing. It was Brickerville House. They were out of electricity due to the severe storm the night before and couldn’t honor our reservation.

I went back into the church to talk to Lauree and Nicole about Plan C. Lauree suggested Hearth and Harrow, which was probably the best choice for our lunch.

Jeff (yellow shirt), Nicole, Haven, Jordan, Nate, Lauree (holding baby Rylee), Lainey, Emmy, and Cerwin.

Hearth and Harrow is a public restaurant attached to Pleasant View Retirement Community and is about a mile from our church. After getting there, I checked if their private room was available. It was. There is no charge to us it. The room holds 10 people comfortably and was perfect for this group.

The girls, Lainey, Emmy, and Haven had fun with their lunch food while the adults enjoyed catching up on each other lives while eating our delicious food.

It is amazing how Plan C can work out even better than Plan A. 🙂
