Notes from Sunday Worship

Sunday School – Joe Cassel, Teacher

Satan does anything he can to distract us from truth.

God’s vision for us is that we catch His vision and share it with others.

As we go, do we think: “How can we bless others today”?

Church – Ron Copenhaver, Preacher – 2 Timothy 2

In this chapter Paul is resetting Timothy’s thinking.

Maybe it’s time for you to reset the routine of your life: Fish in another way – throw your net on the other side.

Ways we can reset our lives

Be strong in God’s amazing grace.

Set a plan to move forward.

Find faithful people to help you.

Be a good soldier. We are in a battle. Our church is being shot at – Our families are being shot at – You are being shot at.

Don’t be entangled in the world. We are entangled in the world when we don’t have time or make God and His will our priority.

Compete according to God’s rules. Soldiers and athletes must follow guidelines – run within the lines.

Think long-term. Hope is not always glamorous, but if you stop running you will lose. If you stop planting you will not see a harvest.

After you have reset your thinking

Avoid stupid arguments.

Don’t major on minors.

Stupid arguments and majoring on minors will turn people off to the gospel.

Study to show yourself approved unto God.

Follow God.

Depart evil.

Be a vessel of honor – prepared for the work of God.

Be gentle and patient.

Are we listening to our commander or are we trying to cut corners?

Paul was bound – a prisoner behind walls – however, God’s Word is not bound or behind walls.
