No Day Off for Farm Related Workers
I woke up early on Christmas Eve morning and wondered why I was hearing farm vehicles in the field next to our yard. It was a cold morning and great for hauling manure.
Rest in the Lord and be willing to wait for Him. Psalm 37:7 (NLV)

This is what I saw from the house – before going outside to get the next two photos. ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Wednesday, December 25 ~~~ Poinsettias on our sanctuary window sills. Worship included songs, prayer, and a message by Dustin Martin. He focused on the wise men, then asked for testimonies from the audience of a gift we think of as our best or most impactful gift. There were several who shared – mostly about […]
~~~ Tuesday Evening, December 24 ~~~ Plan A was when Jere and Kristen invited us to their usual Christmas Eve party at Penn Cinema – watching an animated or good movie in the afternoon – then back to their house for food. Plan B was to go to their house because of their children’s schedules. […]
As I watched our great granddaughter Renee the other evening – removing decorations from this small tree on their deep, farmhouse windowsill, then replacing them in a new location – I thought about the wonder of Christmas for young children. I love when families with small children have a manger set or Christmas tree that […]
Because our old birdbath cracked from below freezing temperatures, our family gave us money for Christmas to get a new one. We never had one crack before. On the way home from an appointment we stopped at Backyard Birding, Co. in East Petersburg. I saw online that they have a nice variety of birdbaths. We […]

~~~ Wednesday, December 18 ~~~ Zach, Gloria and Aleah came to our house for their 2024 birthday supper from Two Cousin’s Restaurant. First, I needed an updated picture of them for our refrigerator. I decided to see what it would look like with the background removed. I think I like this one even better because […]
~~~ Sunday, December 15 ~~~ While we waited for a few people to arrive, I realized that these five great grandchildren were in the same area of the garage, so quickly assembled a group picture. Our 2024 great grandchildren – left to right: Aleah (Feb 14) held by her dad Zach; Lainey (Mar 15) held […]
~~~ Saturday, December 14 ~~~ These three got in late Friday night after flying in from California. They are staying in Nate and Abby’s motorhome – inside their warm shop – about two miles from us. They stopped in for breakfast before heading to New York City to see Christmas lights and other places that […]
~~~ Friday Evening, December 13 ~~~ Following the Myers’ Christmas meal, they spent the rest of the evening playing a variety of games. In this photo Natalie is helping Stetson place animals in their correct location on the farm sheet. Diane had a variety of table games for her family. In this game, each person […]
~~~ Friday, December 13 ~~~ Breakfast with Diane, Mark, Stetson, Kayla and Hezekiah. I am thankful for our large garage on a weekend like this. Mark and Diane thoroughly enjoyed having quality time with their grandson Stetson. Stetson and Henley’s dad, our grandson Hezekiah. Stetson hadn’t seen us since he was a baby, so wasn’t […]
~~~ Thursday, December 12 ~~~ What fun to hold our Tennessee great granddaughter, Henley, shortly after her parents (Hezekiah and Kayla, and brother Stetson) arrived at our house. They came to be here for our family’s Christmas celebration and stayed in our basement bedroom. Diane’s husband, Mark, arrived the day before – flying from Portland, […]

~~~ Wednesday, December 11 ~~~ Bryce and Linnea were the ones who chose to deliver our fruit basket this year. As you can see by their dress, it was a cold rainy evening. Bryce (with the help of his mom) said, “Thank you for being faithful members of White Oak Church.” The delicious ingredients. Thank […]
