I enjoyed watching this goldfinch for a bit the other day as it posed on a shepherds hook right outside our dining area window.

The males are much prettier than this when they become a brilliant yellow by March. Male and female look alike this time of year.

They seem to stay here all year round but are more plentiful at our feeders as the weather gets colder and I am more intentional about feeding them.
