TFC Global at Family Worship Center

Sunday, October, 13

This is what the sky looked like when we left Family Heritage Restaurant on Sunday morning to take the mobile chapel to Family Worship Center a few miles away.

After getting the chapel set up for visitors we enjoyed coffee and shared ministry information with those who stopped in after the early worship service.

We went inside for the second service – to hear Pastor David Damiani’s sermon. Sam Rittenhouse, Cerwin, and I were asked to go to the stage where David prayed for us and TFC Global.

His sermon was from Matthew 13 where the setting was of Jesus sitting by the sea – when a large crowd was drawn to him. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=matthew+13&version=ERV

May Jesus in us draw people to God.

Keep His commandments – stay protected spiritually.

Disobey His commandments – don’t expect God to protect you from Satan’s tactics.

Be good ground for the seed of God so you will multiply spiritually.

This chapter is not just words – it is seed – God’s Word.

People who shut their eyes and ears to God’s words become calloused to God and His Word.

God gives resources (insight, talent, money) to good stewards who do something with it.

The more you share God’s gifts and talents the more you receive. He will give you more than enough.

God’s desire is to use every person on earth for His glory.

We had lots of visitors in the chapel before Sam (left) took us to a local restaurant for lunch.

It was a bittersweet weekend, as we are retiring from taking the promotional chapel to truck shows and churches – and this was the last scheduled event this year. I expect we will take it to the Truck Rally in June – unless it has been placed in a truck stop by that time.

We have had many good years of doing this. Going to truck shows has offered us the opportunity to meet and pray for many truck drivers and others who came to visit us.

We are looking forward to slowing down a bit – still doing what we can for TFC Global. It was our desire to retire slowly and that seems to be working out well for us. We have been giving up responsibilities – bit by bit and year by year.

God has been good to us and we move forward with many fabulous memories of serving with TFC since the early ’70s – full time from 1990 until a few years ago. I still prepare bulk mailings for the staff and take them to the Lititz Post Office and help a bit with the Lancaster Dinner Concert and Truck Rally. Cerwin gives advice and helps with chapel maintenance, serves as Northeast District Manager, and mows the yard at the International Office. He also helps with the Lancaster Dinner Concert and Truck Rally.

I love this stage of our lives. It is good to be healthy and still serving God in our seventies.
