Peary’s Eagle Island – Maine – Part 1

Sunday Afternoon, September 2

You probably forgot that I was posting pictures of our trip to Maine before Josiah had his motorcycle accident on Friday evening. 🙂 That and a busy weekend is my excuse for not posting for a few days.

Following church, we had a quick lunch of Subway sandwiches before traveling to Bailey Island to board a boat. Captain Len was there with a friendly greeting.

This is what Mark, Diane and Hannah chose for their 2018 birthday gift.

As we approached the bridge – the road over which we traveled to get to the dock – Captain Len told us about the construction and upkeep of the bridge.

Then we were on our way to Eagle Island.

Mark, Diane, and Hannah were in the front, Cerwin and I were behind the captain. This is the reason Cerwin and I needed towels which were provided by Captain Len – especially the few times we navigated through rough waters. 🙂

The “rough waters” did not seem too bad to us, but Len said it was rougher and windier than usual.

It was a beautiful day for a boat ride.

Peary’s Eagle Island ahead of us.

Forty-five minutes later we were at our destination.

I will tell you about Peary’s Eagle Island in my next post.
