The Heifer Auction is one of the first activities of this weekend event, so I will begin my  series of photos with pictures of heifers.

Heifers are donated to the auction so funds can be raised for disaster relief projects – like repairing homes which have been damaged by floods and hurricanes.

I was there early and watched as the men and women prepared for the auction.

I have been familiar with cows all my life, but I don’t think I ever realized that they have such long eye lashes. 🙂
