Potter’s House Pig Roast Benefit
~~~ Saturday, July 23 ~~~ We enjoyed this event last year when we basically went to “hang out” with our friend Sam Rittenhouse, so decided to go back again this year to learn more about the ministry – and “hang out” with Sam and his dog Suzie. Oh, and to enjoy the good food. 🙂 […]
Corn Growth in July
I took the first picture in early July and the last one today. Notice the height of corn by the window on the small shed on the right. Also, you can still see the road that goes by our house. July 26 – The window is almost covered, and you can no longer see the […]
Sealing Our Driveway
~~~ Friday, July 22 10:00 AM ~~~ Our driveway was ready for a sealer topping. They started about 10:00 AM by blowing off debris. Then they sealed all the cracks. By the time they were finished it looked like Kintsugi. Kintsugi is usually used on pottery, but I guess the same analogy can be used […]
Lunch with Sauder Cousins
~~~ Wednesday, July 20 12:00 Noon ~~~ We got there just before noon and the room reserved for us was already full. 🙂 I remembered to take a few pictures after we were finished eating. Do you think John and Marvin noticed that I was taking a picture. 🙂 Six of us (Gerald, Lucy, Kenny, […]
I Said Good Morning to the Mourning Dove
It happened when I went for a second cup of coffee. This sweet bird was looking in our kitchen window.
Supper at Blue Bird Inn
~~~ Wednesday, July 20 6:00 PM ~~~ This restaurant was chosen by Nate and Dustan for their 2022 birthday meal. Cerwin and I arrived early to made sure our table for six was ready. While waiting for the others, I noticed this cross facing me as I sat on another bench. We decided they were […]
We Need More Puddles
~~~ Sunday, July 17 7:54 AM ~~~ We were delighted to have some rain on July 17, but it wasn’t enough for the moisture our crops need – and we had only a bit of rain since that date. Yesterday there were a few sprinkles. At least the last several days have been cloudy with […]
Bible School at White Oak Church
~~~ Thursday Evening, July 14 7:00 PM ~~~ We had some other responsibilities and a busy week, so were only able to attend on Thursday evening. This year’s study and activities were centered on the country of Australia. The theme verse for the week. This song brought out a lot of activity and joyous singing. […]
A Beautiful Sunset
~~~ Sunday, July 10 8:13 PM ~~~ I love when a day closes with a gentle glow.
Tall Trees in Our Yard
~~~ Sunday Evening, July 10 8:14 PM ~~~ While I was outside enjoying the evening air, I looked at our trees and thought about their height. Most of the ones you see in these pictures were here when we built our house in 1967 – fifty-five years ago. We added a few when we took […]
Visiting Gracie’s Restaurant with Friends
~~~ Wednesday, July 13 1:00 PM ~~~ As I was taking this picture of Bunny, Peg, Inge, Cerwin and Sam, a lady came up to me and said, “Excuse, me.” I thought I was in her way, but she was offering to take a picture that included me. 🙂 That was nice of her. We […]
Fungi in Our Yard
I always find these fungi growths interesting. These pictures with an orange glow were taken at sunset. Not sure if this is a fungus or something else. They seem to be plentiful this summer – maybe due to the heat and sometimes high humidity.
