Meeting a New Calf

After church, then enjoying interesting conversation and a delicious lunch prepared by Jeff, we went out to the barnyard to see the new calf.

She wasn’t very close to the barn, and it was a cold, wet, windy day so we didn’t try to get a close-up shot.

Jeff tried to get her to stand up, but she didn’t understand what he wanted her to do. 🙂

Because she has unique markings, I am using the picture Jeff took (below) shortly after her birth.

I love her coloring with white socks, white tail, spot on her forehead and the other neat white spots.

I’m glad God knows what He is doing when calves and other animals are born on cold, windy days. They don’t even seem to be bothered by the weather. All they care about is that mom is nearby.
