We didn’t know what to expect with the predicted snowfall because we were kind of at a dividing line between light snow and heavy snow. I took the first two pictures about 5:42 am, when the snow was beginning to warn us that we were going to get more than a dusting. By 7:45 AM […]
Thursday, February 1 to Sunday, February 11 February 1: Just before suppertime, my sister-in-law Brenda stopped in with a birthday treat – cheeseburger soup, lemon poppyseed muffins and the cutest card which was painted by her granddaughter Molly. The canned soups were from our daughter, Diane, when she was here from Maine – the week […]
Robins remind us of spring, but I think we have had a few all winter. I think there must be bugs in this feeder because it is rare to see a robin at a feeder. This is where I put all old bird seed and suet when I refresh the feeders each week.
It has been fun to see a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at our feeders recently. Each of these is a female, because the male has a red throat. I especially enjoyed watching it share a feeder with a pair of bluebirds. This is a big feeder on a bench close to the ground where I dump old […]
~~~ Wednesday, January 31 Lititz, PA ~~~ We had a really good turnout of Sauder Cousins this time. We get together every three months. There were 21 People – cousins, spouses and friends. Each of the cousin’s parents were siblings. This is the number of people who represented each sibling: Aaron 5, Alice 3, Amos […]
This is the youngest picture of me that I could find. It’s not great because I took it from a family photo. But I treasure it, and love how my dad is holding me. This was when I was about the age of 10. This was a bit younger than 20, but it will represent […]
I love sharing my birthday with you. We love you! Grandpa and Grandma High
This time we had a good group – about 55 people. This family group consisted of Cerwin’s siblings, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. We missed Bob and Doris’ family, […]
This is for those who remember when the pond was dug during August of 2022 – from what was an old pond that had become a swampy-kind-of-mud-hole. This year’s January rains and snow have made if full to overflowing. It has been almost full for the past year, but now it is overflowing into the […]
We noticed this swan while traveling home from a breakfast at Oregon Dairy. Then I saw there was another one behind the beautiful fountain. The one in the background doesn’t look very happy. I guess we were invading its territory. Swans are beautiful creatures! ~~~ Something to Ponder ~~~
~~~ Saturday Evening, January 27 at Grace Point Church, Ephrata, PA ~~~ We like to go early enough to have time to visit the vendors. Western Kansas Outfitters had a beautiful dog that was trained for tracking. There were always too many people around it to get a picture. I think this gentleman has been […]
