What fun to have lunch and great conversation with friends. Left to Right: Cerwin, Gary, Merle, Rita and Orpha as we waited on our lunch at Brickerville House. Merle and Rita were on their home to Red Lake, Ontario, Canada, from a winter vacation in Florida.

Gary, Orpha, Cerwin and I were team leaders in the late ’80s when we took a dozen young people to Pikangikum – a First Nation Reserve in northwestern Ontario, Canada – for a one-week Bible School. Merle was often our pilot and mentor. We had a great time reminiscing and catching up on each other’s lives.

On the way home, we took a back road to see if either of the eagles was in the nest. It was fun to see that one of them was home. I expect it is sitting on eggs or newly hatched eaglets, because it is that time of year.

I took a side view of the nest after turning onto the next road. I could only see its beak. This is between two and three miles from our house – as the eagle flies.
