Roy planned this delightful lunch for their two mothers. I doubt that he knew the weather would be nice enough to eat outside.

I had seen the desserts, so ordered a light meal. First, I shared this appetizer with everyone at the table. Stuffed Grape Leaves – filled with rice and drizzled with lemon and olive oil.

The original building was constructed in 1741. The present building was built by Abraham Witmer in about 1789. The name and owners changed many times. However, the name Conestoga was used most often.

An old photo inside the building.

A waitress seemed happy to take our photo just after she delivered the salads. Roy, Deb, Me, Cerwin and Barb.

Loved this Greek bread.

Roy, Deb and Cerwin ordered Pastitsio – similar to lasagna.

Barb had crab cakes and I had Lobster Bisque (incredibly delicious).

Cerwin and I shared the strawberry cake. The others shared the other desserts. Oh, yum!

The atmosphere was so delightful that we ordered coffee – to extend our stay.

I walked around a bit to show you the patio surroundings – next to the Conestoga River.

A closeup of a rose near the patio.

At home there were cards, candy, the promise of a future breakfast, a bouquet of flowers, a pot of flowers for outside, a variety of snacks and a single yellow carnation from the youth group at church.

It was certainly a day to be treasured.
