Jesse’s Mom (Kristen) asked us last week if we could pick up Jesse at school on Monday the 23rd following a final exam for an elective class. He was going to be dismissed at 12:05 pm, but his bus wouldn’t come until two hours later. (Jere and Kristen would both be at work.)

Since it was noon, I messaged Jesse asking if he was getting lunch at school and if not, did he want to go to Twin Kiss. He was not getting lunch at school and liked the idea of going to Twin Kiss.

Of course, we needed pictures while we waited for our food. He got a milkshake, cheeseburger and French fries. Cerwin and I shared a root beer, cheese steak and French fries.

Twin Kiss has been part of our local town of Manheim since 1952. I worked in a nearby office after graduating from high school and often met friends at the Twin Kiss for lunch. We had a one-hour lunch break – which gave us plenty of time to walk to Twin Kiss. Sometimes those who joined me were co-workers, other times it was a friend who worked at a Manheim bank.

Kristen asked him to take a selfie of the three of us and send it to her.

Notice his hairstyle. When he was walking toward our car after school, I said, “Doesn’t his hairstyle (lots of hair on top) make him look like our dads when they were young?” Cerwin agreed.

Cerwin’s dad.

This is my dad. The second picture is of my dad and mom during their dating years. Somehow hairstyles come around every so often – each time with a current, modern twist.

Jesse is so much fun to visit.

He always asks us how we are doing and what is going on in our lives.
