Enjoying Winter

Friday, January 8

The other day I said to Cerwin, “When our children were small, I used to dream about having a day to myself – or even an hour.”

Now here we are with many days to ourselves. πŸ™‚

With plenty of time to watch sunrises.

They make me think about all the sunrises I missed in life because I was busy at this time of day – in our basement office.

That’s okay too. I enjoyed the busyness and the work I did.

I used to say the best time of my life was when our children were small.

Then I loved when they were teenagers and a bit more independent.

Before long they all married and there were grandchildren – and I thought that was the best time of our lives. We has fun with babysitting and having cousin’s week. Now there are great grandchildren!

During that same time we were busy in Transport For Christ – and I loved that work and getting to know many people and seeing many places as we traveled around the country placing chapels in truck stops from Florida to Quebec and Texas to British Columbia.

When that part of the ministry slowed down a bit, we took the mobile chapel to truck shows – most spring, summer and fall weekends and met even more people and had the opportunity to share the ministry and God’s love with them.

The ministry is moving in new, exciting directions – and that is a good thing – just at the right time for our ages. We are still here and stay in touch with things that are happening – helping when needed.

Last year COVID brought our lives to a crawl – and that has also been a kind of blessing – allowing us to enjoy each other – with time to treasure sunrises and sunsets. πŸ™‚

God is good in every season and rhythm of life.

He has been incredibly good to us.

Life is good!
