Gloria’s Birthday Party

Tuesday Evening, December 15

It was fun to be at Jeff and Chris’ house to celebrate Gloria’s 20th birthday – along with the rest of her family. In this picture: Jordan, Chris, Dustan, Nate, Cerwin, Jeff, Jenna, Diana.

Our great grandson Bennett responding to his Great Grandma Wells.

Grandma and Grandpa High enjoying Bennett – with Nate and Zach (Gloria’s boyfriend) in the background.

Enjoying supper – Donovan (background), Zach, Dustan, Jade and Diana. (Jenna is hidden behind Diana.) Jordan’s girlfriend, Olya, and Nate’s wife, Lauree, were also there, but I somehow missed capturing them in any photos.

Jordan grilled some venison (wrapped in bacon) from the deer that Gloria shot earlier this season. It was incredibly delicious.

Why do cats enjoy climbing trees – especially Christmas trees?

Keeping a cautious eye on Bennett who seemed determined to get close to her.

Cerwin helped him get closer.

Time for birthday cake

Jade wanted to help Gloria blow out the candles.

Gloria gave me this beautiful pose when I prepared to take a picture of her opening presents.

Since we are not having a large family gathering, we gave everyone their Christmas presents. You know it is 2020 when face masks are included in each package. 🙂 Nate thought they were very comfortable.

Gloria was especially glad for a new variety as she must wear them every day. She works in a pharmacy. (They were actually donations from an animal rescue location. They had received a case of them – way too many for them to use.) When our daughter Deb asked if I knew anyone who needed packs of masks, I offered to put a pack with each Christmas gift.

It is nice to see smiles uncovered.

Diana (Bennett’s momma) took these last four pictures with her cell phone and sent them to us the next day.

I am posting them here with her permission. I love those cute little feet and his ever-ready smile. He seems to think that everyone is a friend.

Oh, what a delightful evening. There have been way too few family gatherings this year, so I treasure each one – probably more than unusual.
