A Skunk was Eating the Birdseed

Wednesday, November 18

This is what I saw when I looked out our kitchen window at 4:30 am – after getting my first cup of coffee.

Now I know why this basket and the stone turtle (next to skunks tail) are on the ground. They belong on the metal stool in the upper left. I put the turtle in the basket to keep it from blowing away. Then fill the basket with birdseed.

I was going to throw the basket away earlier this fall, then decided to put birdseed in it until it falls apart. During the spring and summer I have a dish filled with grape jelly for the orioles and cat birds on the metal stool.

The other morning Cerwin saw a mostly white skunk at the same spot and today there was a raccoon there. I must teach him how to use my camera! 🙂
