Sight and Sound

Saturday Evening, September 26

We had a great evening at Sight and Sound – enjoying the production of Queen Esther.

Due to COVID they are limited in how many can be in the auditorium. I am used to seeing it full, so the audience looked sparse to me.

Photos cannot be taken during the program, so I took a few before it began and during the break.

I was impressed with the beautiful set. We were on the left side where Haman and his family lived.

Haman is the main antagonist in the Book of Esther, who according to the Hebrew Bible was a vizier in the Persian empire under King Ahasuerus, commonly identified as Xerxes I but traditionally equated with Artaxerxes I or Artaxerxes II. As his epithet Agagite indicates, Haman was a descendant of Agag, the king of the Amalekites.

Esther and the Jews lived on the right side of the main stage.

The palace of King Ahasuerus was on center stage.

I loved being reminded of how God works out His plan even when evil men seem to be in control.

Thanks, Jere and Kristen, for this wonderful anniversary gift.
