Corn Harvest

Friday, September 11

I heard equipment just before noon, and noticed that corn was being harvested in the field across the road from us.

The crop in the foreground is the field of butternut squash.

As the trench was filled, someone drove a tractor over it continually for hours to compress the silage.

Notice a loaded truck (right) bringing a new load of silage.

By late afternoon the field was down to corn stubbles.
