Creation Museum – Part 1
Wednesday, August 23 I was pleased to begin our vacation early Wednesday morning. The morning sky was pretty behind us… …and ahead of us. At one point the morning sky was expressive. I smiled when I thought this cloud formation looked like an old lady in the wind. 🙂 A Pennsylvania tunnel We checked into […]
TFC’s Promotional Chapel at the Buck Truck Show – Part 2
Saturday, August 19 More trucks driving by my chair next to the chapel. I’d like to dash around on this. 🙂 I spent a lot of time talking with this woman while the men brought visitors through the chapel. We also had a lot of visitors on the outside. People who just wanted to visit […]
TFC’s Promotional Chapel at the Buck Truck Show – Part 1
Saturday, August 19 I asked Cerwin if I could have an extra five minutes to get a picture of the chapel leaving TFC’s Headquarters Office in the morning sunlight. It was a breathtaking, beautiful morning as we drove from Marietta to The Buck – about half-an-hour drive. We arrived about 7:30 am so we could […]
A Spider in Our Security Camera
When I heard a beep on our security camera, I looked up to see who was here. I was surprised to see a spider busily spinning a web. 🙂 I went outside to get a close up. Spiders fascinate me. I especially enjoy watching them – at least when they are outside.

Supper at Gus’s with the Boys
Tuesday Evening, August 15 Supper was part of Jesse’s 2017 birthday gift. He chose Gus’s because they have an all-day breakfast. He wanted pancakes. 🙂 We were each ready to eat after bowling two games. Jesse was happy with his pancakes and bacon. I chose a breakfast as well. When the waitress heard that we […]
Bowling for Jesse’s 2017 Birthday Gift
Tuesday Afternoon, August 15 We continued our week by going to Dutch Lanes for Jesse’s 2017 birthday gift. I wanted to get a good picture of these four, but couldn’t find one. First Cerwin was adjusting his glasses. Then Ian sneezed. I guess this one – the response to the sneeze is best. 🙂 We […]
Labeling Highway News and Eating Churros
Tuesday, August Our first job on Tuesday morning – of brothers’ week – was to label the individual Highway News (September issue). After taking the seven bags to the post office, we went to Costco where Cerwin had an appointment to have a checkup on his hearing aids. The boys – Jared, Jesse, Ian – […]
Build-A-Bear with the Boys
Monday afternoon, August 14 Jesse informed me that he never made a Build-A-Bear like the other grandchildren. Sometimes the youngest grandchild gets special benefits, but other times they get missed. So we went to Build-A-Bear after Refreshing Mountain. First he had to choose an animal from the many bins of animals. He named him Fluffy. […]
Swimming at Refreshing Mountain
Monday Afternoon, August 14 We had a relaxing morning, then went to Refreshing Mountain so the boys could swim and so we could plan a Challenge Adventure and Zip Line Excursion for later in the week. It was a great day to be at the pool – there were very few people there. Maybe because […]
Visiting Great-Grandma Hershey
Sunday, August 13 The week was what we used to call “Cousins Week”, but all the cousins (our grandchildren) have grown up and have jobs and busy lives, so we are down to “Brothers Week” with Ian, Jared, and Jesse. The Amish must have had church in our area. We met four buggies in our […]
A Summer of Rain
Saturday, August 12 This has been a most unusual summer in our area with a downpour almost every week – sometimes more than once a week. As a result, fields are filled with tall corn, beans, potatoes, soybeans – whatever the farmers are growing. Yards are green and need mowing every week – sometimes twice […]
