Notes from Sunday Worship

Sunday, November 17 – Sunday school

Subject: Faith that is Focused. 1 Peter 1:13-25

Opening thoughts by Sunday school Superintendent Scott Rohrer

In business and in our Christian life – the things on which we focus get improved.

Sunday school – Teacher: John Diffenderfer

Focus needs a target. It can be a thing or an action.

Focusing our minds on faith and love takes preparation.

As we age we often focus on finishing well.

Worship – Missions Sunday – Preacher: Mike Allgyer with DNI Missions. Acts 13:1-3, 14:26-28

DestiNations International (DNI) is the mission agency of BMA. It exists to make “Christ’s last command our first priority–church planting among unreached people groups.”

Do we really believe that the gospel is for everyone?

Are your serious enough to pray and fast in seeking God’s will for your life?

From The Joshua Project.Net: Statics say there are 7,165 people groups who are unreached with the gospel. That is 41.6 % of the world’s population.

From illuminations.bible : Currently, 3,800 (out of the 6,300 languages that exist in the world) have little or no Scripture.

Today many refugees are living in refugee camps where they may be hearing the gospel for the first time.

Launched by God’s Grace

It is important that a sending church stands behind those who are called to go.

Preparing to Launch

Those who are called to go must be faithful in sharing the Gospel where they are – before they go.

They must know the value of prayer, training and preparation.

Being Launched

70% of all missionaries leave their “sending” or home church within one year because of lack of care from the sending church.

There are two types of missionaries – those who send and those who are sent.

Evening Worship – Calling a New Preacher – Preacher: Paul Schildt

A congregation will not rise above its leadership.

Leaders in a congregation must be: called, known for good character, and consistent – not perfect but those who lead by example.

Glendon Zook was called to be the newest minister for our congregation. We are excited to see what God has in mind for Glendon and his wife, Denise.
