Cerwin’s Birthday Party #1
Sunday, April 30 Actually, this first picture is from Saturday night after supper when Hezekiah, Jesse, Diane, and Jared played Qwirkle. I accidentally saved it in Sunday’s file. 🙂 We had Sunday lunch after church with those who were in the house – or arrived about lunch time. Clockwise: Jesse, Deb, Jared, Ian, Heze, Mark, […]
Petals, Flowers & A Moth
Saturday, April 29 We had rain and wind during the night – bringing down most of our cherry blossoms. It was when Cerwin left to take Ian to a neighbors place to do some mulching (one of Ian’s jobs) that I noticed the flower petals on our van. I told Cerwin that he looked like […]

A Fun Evening at Our Place
Friday, April 28 Jesse, Heze, Ian, Jared came for the weekend. Jere and Kristen went to Washington DC to celebrate Kristen’s birthday – the reason the youngest three were here. Heze drove here from Tennessee to surprise his parents who were arriving the next day. ~~~ I treasure these kind of days when grandchildren are here.
A Variety of April Happenings
Cerwin took the newest chapel to the paint shop. A few days later he brought one of the tractors home for a hood repair. Thanks Will Stoner for fixing it. Amish trucking. They were leaving Costco with their grocery supply. My sister had a bunch of tomatoes left over from a work day meal, made a tomato […]
A Birthday Meal with Roy & Deb
April 23 Roy knows that Cerwin enjoys a good steak and “googled” best steak in Lancaster County. Johnny’s was on the list. We arrived a bit early and enjoyed the colorful view in front of us as we waited for Roy and Deb. Our view was enhanced by this couple who were enjoying a late […]

Pembroke, New York, Part 2 & Traveling Home
After breakfast the men began preparing the chapel for removal from the truck stop. Dwayne removed the lettering. Cerwin, Sam and Dan removed the lattice work, lights, and steps. When coming out of the truck stop I noticed that the men were praying. I got there just as they finished and said, “Keep praying.” 🙂 It was […]
Traveling to Pembroke, New York
Thursday, April 20 It was a cloudy, rainy morning when Cerwin, Sam Rittenhouse, Dan Witwer, and I began our six hour drive to Pembroke, New York. At times it was a bit foggy. Other times it was just cloudy. When I turned around to talk to Dan and Sam, I saw the headlights of a […]

New, Springtime Growth
Tuesday, April 18 There is nothing quite like a Carolina Wren to announce the arrival of springtime weather. He sings at the top of his little lungs many times throughout the day – trying to attract a partner to a newly built nest. There is new growth and pretty flowers all around him and in our yard. May […]
Helping a Church Member
Tuesday, April 18 Cerwin took these pictures with his cell phone. Several from our Sunday school class and church helped prepare this small farm for sale. Harold’s wife, Doris, died a few months ago, and he is not doing well emotionally, and needed help. I was not able to be there, and Cerwin said these few pictures […]
Blossoms & Birds Are Fascinating
Monday, April 17 Young blossoms on one of our white dogwood trees. One of our noisy little wrens is busy building a nest in our “pan” birdhouse. A chipping sparrow looked pretty in the evening sun. The male gold finches look exotic in their summer colors – almost like they belong in a rain forest atmosphere. Blossoms […]
