~~~ Monday, January 20 ~~~ By morning it had stopped snowing, and our road was open, but still snow covered. When examining the yard, we wondered what left these tracks – probably an animal that had to jump – because of the distance between each track. Facing east toward the back part of our yard. […]
~~~ Monday, January 20 ~~~ I looked outside to see this beautiful view. I went outside for another view. From my outside position (next to the garage door), I looked up and saw a snow overhang. It was a nice, cold day to be able to stay inside after taking these pictures.
~~~ January 19 ~~~ Sunday lunch was quite an experience because of the snowstorm. It was about a week ago that I invited three couples from church to join us for lunch, not knowing there would be a snowstorm. On Saturday, I called each couple to give them an opportunity to postpone the meal to […]
~~~ Friday, January 17 ~~~ We always enjoy the concerts that are held at New Covent Church, and this night was no different. They are scheduled several times a year. A bonus is the delicious food that is served. This time it was sausage sandwiches and chicken corn soup, plus coffee, donuts, sodas, water, and […]
~~~ Photos taken – Wednesday, January 15 ~~~ For some reason I became fascinated with the bare trees that line our Pennsylvania landscape right now. It happens every fall and winter when the dying leaves can no longer resist gravity and wind. They are a reminder of the seasons on our yearly calendars, also the […]
~~~ Thursday, January 16 ~~~ Birds are always fun to watch when it snows. I put some peanuts out, which I like to do when it snows. This is not a feeder, but the small table between our patio chairs. That only works in winter. I also use the old, cracked birdbath for a feeder. […]
It seems we have a light dusting to an inch or two of snow every week this winter. This snow happened during the afternoon of Thursday, January 16. Even if the snow isn’t deep, it keeps the snowplows busy keeping the roads salted so vehicles don’t encounter slippery roads. Now we await the next snow […]
~~~ Friday, January 17 ~~~ There are many ordinary days in the life of retired people like us, but not today. 🙂 First, I decided it was time to wash the laundry room floor mat, so put it in the washing machine with a few towels and wash cloths. When I opened the washer, the […]
~~~ Wednesday, January 15 ~~~ We enjoyed a delightful lunch with retired TFC friends. Cerwin took this picture, so I am first on the left, then Inge, Kathy, Peg, Bunny, and Sam. It is always so good to be together. We were at one of our favorite places – Knight & Day Diner. They have […]

~~~ Saturday, January 11 ~~~ It was interesting to watch a Red-bellied Woodpecker eating suet in our old (cracked and leaking) birdbath. It has become a suet feeder for the birds for the winter. The large birds seem to like this new feeder. He looked pretty against the newly fallen snow. Then I noticed a […]
I was on the treadmill the other day when I looked out the window and saw this. I did a double take and thought, “We don’t have a little tree there.” Then I realized it was just a branch that must have landed at a perfect angle to stick into frozen ground. 🙂
