Jared’s Last Wrestling Match for the Season
Wednesday Evening, January 29 Thanks to Jere for calling us so we did not miss this. For some reason I had it on my calendar for the next night. 🙂 Thankfully we don’t live far from the school. It was a fairly even match for awhile, then it felt like his opponent was making illegal […]

Sauder Cousin’s Lunch
Wednesday, January 29 It is always fun to enjoy lunch and visit with some of Cerwin’s Sauder cousins. (We do this four times a year.) There were two from the next generation – a cousin’s son – closest to the camera and Elvin and Pat’s daughter, Crystal (our niece), top of the picture with long […]
Visiting Sam Rittenhouse
Tuesday, January 28 During the one-and-a-half-hour drive (mostly on the Pennsylvania turnpike) we stopped at this rest stop for a quick lunch. Sam was doing really well – one week after knee surgery. We got to see the staples. (This is now a week following our visit, and I expect the staples have been removed.) […]

Notes from Sunday Worship
Sunday, February 2 ~~~ Sunday school – Subject: Single-minded Obedience – Matthew 4:1-11 – Teacher: John Diffenderfer How do we stand up to daily temptation? “God would rather that we make a daily commitment than a yearly resolution.” Jesus’ commitment to bring salvation to us meant He did not turn His back on God – […]

Saturday, January 25 We arrived early – 3:30 pm – for the 4:00 pm seminar and had time to check out the displays and vendors. The photo above is the stage where hunters brought their trophies. This was a photo from the stage as people checked out vendors in the auditorium. Mike Fedora and his […]
Rain and Blue Jays
Saturday, January 25 It was a wet morning. The blue jays were hungry for peanuts. This one seemed to be telling me that there were no peanuts. I refilled the box with peanuts – and the jays were back. Not so wet by this time. The female cardinal also came looking for food, but stayed […]
Morning
Friday, January 24 Never miss the blessing of having an opportunity to observe a new painting on God’s canvas every morning. When I looked at my feet, I noticed that some hyacinths are already pushing through the ground. They may see some brutal weather yet this winter – before it is time for them to […]
Funeral of TFC Chaplain Earl Carlson in South Dayton, New York
Wednesday, January 22 We left home shortly after 6:30 am – with a five-and-a-half-hour-drive ahead of us. Our goal was to arrive at the funeral home about 12:30 pm for the 1:00 pm funeral. We figured that by giving ourselves six hours we would have time for a quick McDonalds brunch and a fuel stop. […]
Red Lobster with Jordan and Morgan
Monday Evening, January 20 Red Lobster was Morgan’s choice for her 2020 birthday date with us. The cheese biscuits were warm and DELICIOUS. We could have made a meal out of them. After our meals arrived I experimented with the lighting – because the room was fairly dark. I liked this one best. Our waitress […]
Bird Fight
Monday, January 20 My camera says it was 8:09 am when I took this picture of a male Red-bellied Woodpecker enjoying some suet for breakfast. Little did I know what fun I would have watching a bird fight during the next four minutes – after a European Starling decided he also wanted to have breakfast […]

Today Would Have Been Mother's 98th Birthday
Mother died rather suddenly 46 years ago after a two-week illness. She was 52. I was 30 and pregnant with our youngest child, Deb. This picture was taken on the day she married our dad. Precious Memories!
Supper with Cerwin's Sisters
Friday Evening, January 17 What fun to spend the evening with Cerwin’s sisters (Velda – closest to camera) and Doris and their husbands Mel and Bob at Lititz Family Cupboard. Cerwin’s brother, Elvin, had outpatient surgery that day and could not join us. Bob and Doris were visiting from Minnesota – to attend his parents […]
