~~~ Sunday Evening, October 16 ~~~ This is where Colton and Ashlea braided three cords to signify the Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 4:12 A threefold cord is not quickly broken. God, Colton and Ashlea Parents Prayer Colton and Ashlea came back to greet and dismiss each person. The house at the wedding venue This little guy […]
~~~ Saturday Evening, October 15 ~~~ Ashlea knows I like candid photography and asked if I would record their wedding rehearsal by taking pictures. I love doing that kind of photography and prefer to not have to set up photos. Just take pictures as things are happening. Ashlea is my sister’s granddaughter and lived on […]
~~~ Thursday, October 13 ~~~ We left Mark and Diane’s house about 6:13 am on a cloudy day, so were pleased to see signs of the sunrise as we approached Portland. We entered a section of fog and drizzle shortly after 7 am. We left Maine with sun beside us and dark skies ahead. I […]
~~~ Wednesday, October 12 ~~~ I say this so often. If we didn’t take children and grandchildren out for their birthdays, we would miss out on so many culinary delights. I doubt that Cerwin and I would have chosen Maiz if we had gone out alone, but this was so much fun. This was Elizabeth’s […]

~~~ Tuesday October 11 – Lunch ~~~ Mark’s birthday was six days earlier – before we arrived at their house. He has Tuesdays off from his work as a driver for First Fleet. He was considering several restaurants. Because he had seen this 40’s diner in his travels, he settled on this one. Mark and […]
~~~ October 10 ~~~ Diane knew we wanted to go to a location in Maine where we had never been. We left early Monday for a beautiful (northeast) drive on a fairly cool and cloudy day. I find the landscape to be interesting when driving close to the ocean. It is quite different than Lancaster […]
~~~ October 9 ~~~ We enjoyed going to church with Diane. We asked Hannah to choose a day and time to go out to eat for her 2022 birthday – which was the following week. This was the day that suited her. She works on a farm, and this is one of her days off. […]
~~~ Saturday, October 8 ~~~ We left our comfortable little cabin at PMR about 8 am and headed west to Stowe, Vermont, where we had a 10 am brunch appointment in the dining room at Von Trapp Family Lodge. We took some pictures of the lake on the premises of PMR before leaving. The sun […]
~~~ Friday, October 7 ~~~ The entrance to the main building. Notice how differently people are dressed here than at the bottom of the mountain. Lots of winter coats. The temperature was in the mid-40’s and the wind was 34.1 mph. It says visibility was 60 miles, but we were told that we were seeing […]
~~~ Friday, October 7 New Hampshire ~~~ Our last six miles to the base station for the Cog Railway were as beautiful as the previous miles. We arrived at the base station of Cog Railway about two hours early. That was a comfortable amount of time to have lunch, walk through the museum and get […]

~~~ Friday, October 7 ~~~ We weren’t sure how our scenic drive would go – between Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Mount Washington, New Hampshire, when our day started like this. I took these pictures about 9 am. By 9:30 things looked more encouraging as the clouds and rain gave way to sunshine. By 10 am […]
~~~ Traveling to New Hampshire Thursday, October 6 ~~~ We left home about 6:30 am and saw the pretty sunrise across the fields and trees to the east as we traveled Route 501 on the way to I-78. I love to see morning fog as we travel. This was somewhere in the Allentown area. My […]
~~~ Wednesday, October 5 2:45 pm ~~~ When Cerwin told me that there were several orange mushrooms in the yard, I knew where they were and that they were Chicken of the Woods. I was surprised to find four of them – two large, one medium and a tiny one (in the front). There is […]
~~~ Saturday Evening, October 1 New Fairview Church of the Brethren, York, PA ~~~ It was encouraging to meet our friends from this ministry and hear about the work at Carlisle Truck Stop Ministries. The welcome was by Dave Lehigh. We enjoyed a delicious meal and ministry information before the concert. Chaplain Mike gave an […]
