Our July 4th Celebration

~~~
Sunday evening at Jere and Kristen’s place
~~~

These brand new flip flops make me smile. Kristen used them as a table decoration, but when Josh and Emily arrived, Emily was mortified, thinking Tucker had put her shoes on the table. πŸ™‚ (Tucker had spent the previous week with “Papa and Mamma High”.) Imagine Emily’s relief to learn they were table decorations and had been put there by Kristen.

Table decorations included this pretty bouquet of flowers.

I had some time so experimented with a few settings on my camera. πŸ™‚

We had a delicious picnic supper on their deck.

Emily and Roy, our birthday twins (several years apart). πŸ™‚ They celebrated their birthdays a few days later – July 7.

We watched a pretty sunset and sat around a campfire while waiting for dusk so Jere could begin setting off fireworks.

Ian and Jared used the time to target shoot with pellet guns.

Before long we watched Jere put off his set of fireworks – purchased at COSTCO. He and we were surprised at the pretty mixture.

I took lots and lots of pictures, but just chose those I found most interesting to post here.

Jere preparing to take a cellphone photo of a fireworks going off with Tucker and Jesse sitting on the ground.

I like how this fireworks shiuloutted Tucker. She was actually closer to me than the fireworks. πŸ™‚

I sat there, on a very pleasant evening, relishing the atmosphere and thinking how grateful I am to live in the USA.

I like how these photos show the used fireworks containers.

When Jere’s fireworks display was over, several lit large sparklers. I think all were from Austin and Jana’s wedding.

Josh had a large glow stick.

By the time we went home, there were large fireworks displays all over the horizon. We counted at least 10 different locations.
